Inspired by countless nights spent at sea, Midnight reflects the mesmerising experience of watching a boat's light dance across the surface of the ocean after dark.
At first glance, the water appears calm and still. Yet beneath the surface, an entirely different world exists - one teeming with movement and life! Illuminated by artificial light, fleeting glimpses of this hidden realm reveal themselves before disappearing once more into the darkness.
Created through layers of flowing colour and rhythmic mark-making, the work explores the relationship between what is visible and what remains concealed. Glimmers of gold leaf hinting at treasure in the depths just waiting to be discovered.
