The Social Fabric project is a vibrant celebration of our creative self-expression and community identity in the Gladstone Region, envisioned by Jen Hollstein.

33 participants were guided to get in touch with their intuition as the driving force in the creative process, experiencing a flow of activities such as meditative visualisation, expressive painting, movement to music, and reflective writing in a group setting.

This process resulted in the artwork portraits below, capturing moments of pure and true self-expression that illuminate the magic of intuitive creativity.

This was the goal of Social Fabric as a Visual Ethnography project: to use photography and videography to create compelling visual stories that contribute to our region’s contemporary history.

The collection showcases our unique and brilliant individual creativity, while demonstrating that - when brought together - we make up the vibrant spectrum and intricately profound tapestry of our community’s collective expression.

Social Fabric exhibited at the Old Community Hall in Agnes Water in May 2025.
