A Nod to Pollock
Created in 2022 as an experiment in expressive painting, these works were inspired by the energetic, layered approach of Jackson Pollock and his willingness to surrender to process rather than control.
Using recycled interior paint on recycled canvases and op-shop frames, I embraced dripping, splattering, and layering paint directly onto the surface, allowing texture and movement to accumulate organically over time.
The process became an exercise in stepping away from perfectionism and embracing play. The paint spills beyond the canvas and onto the frames themselves, transforming discarded materials into something unexpectedly vibrant and alive.
Part tribute, part experiment, these pieces mark an important chapter in my creative journey as I learned to loosen my grip, trust the process, and find freedom within the chaos.
